Is an artist from Camden, New Jersey who curates eye-stimulating pieces using many different art mediums like installation, video, painting, and more. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, and then went on to acquire a Master of Fine Arts from the Yale University School of Art.
At first glance of seeing Alex Da Corte, I was pretty mesmerized by how eccentric and uncanny he looked with the vibrant and colorful pop-culture costumes he wore. One of the first images I saw of him was when he was styled to look like Eminem, in his art piece titled ‘True Life.’
His implementations of various pop-culture character costumes ranging from The Pink Panther to Mr. Rodgers brings a familiar and nostalgic feel to his art, which is just one part of his lively and dreamlike artwork. Another part of his artwork that is very attention-grabbing is his use of bright neon lights and alluring large-scale installations. The aesthetics of his art give me a very fever dream-like feeling.
